How it works
- Install Vembu BDR Suite on Windows VM on Google Cloud
- Then, install Vembu ImageBackup or Vembu NetworkBackup client on each Google instance you would like to back up at image-level or file-level respectively
- The backup data will be transferred and stored to the BDR backup server over LAN/WAN
- Vembu creates different virtual file formats like VHD, VHDX, VMDK, Flat.VMDK & IMG for all the backed up Google VMs. Using these file formats, you can restore the Google cloud instances as a Google VM or as an instance on AWS /Azure/another public cloud or as an on-premise workload (Physical/Virtual machine)
- Also, you can directly backup the Google VM or replicate a copy of it to different Google cloud regions, other public clouds and local data center
Backup Google Cloud VMs to the same region
- Deploy BDR backup server in the same region where your Google VMs run
- Install Vembu agents inside each Google instance
- The data is transferred to the backup server over LAN/WAN and stored within the same region
Backup Google Cloud VMs to another Google Cloud region
- Deploy the BDR backup server on a Windows Instance running on a different region (where you would like to have the backup data)
- Install Vembu agents inside each Google VM in the source region through which the backup data will be transferred to the backup server over WAN
- If anything happens to your source Google instances, you can restore them instantly on the other region to enable business continuity
Backup Google Cloud VMs to other Public Clouds
- Vembu also supports backup of Google instances to other Public Clouds like AWS, Azure
- Deploy the BDR backup server on a Windows VM running in other public cloud and backup over WAN
- This lets you store the Google instances backup data on another public cloud and lets you restore whenever required
Backup Google Cloud VMs to the local Data Center
- Vembu provides the flexibility to back up the Google Cloud Workloads to the local data center
- Deploy BDR backup server on Windows physical machine or virtual machine in your local data center and backup the Google instances over WAN
- You can instantly restore your Google VMs on VMware/Hyper-V/KVM environments
Backup On-Premise Workloads to Google Cloud
- Vembu also provides the flexibility to backup on-premise workloads (VMware VMs, Hyper-V VMs, Windows Servers & Workstations) to Google Cloud
- Deploy BDR backup server on a Windows Google instance and backup your on-premise workloads data over WAN
- Restore your backed up data as a Google instance or restore as a on-premise workload in your local data center
